   LaGuardia Airport Transportation

If you choose to fly into the LaGuardia International Airport, you will need to work out your ground transportation.  The LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) is located approximately 10.1 miles north-east of New York City (in the borough of Queens), making it the closest airport to downtown New York City.  The best way to travel to and from the LaGuardia International Airport is to take a taxi, publich transportation, shuttle bus or rent a car. A taxi ride from LaGuardia to downtown New York City can take anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes, depending on traffic.   If you are staying in the city of New York City, you can take public transportation to the city center.  

   Newark Airport Information

The best way to travel to and from the Newark Liberty International Airport is to take a taxi, public transportation or rent a car.  The Newark Liberty International Airport is located 5.2 miles south-west of downtown Newark and approximately 15.2 miles south-west of New York City.  The drive from Newark Liberty to downtown New York City can take 35 - 45 minutes (depending on traffic).  Newark has an excellent public transportation system. Taxis and the Newark AirTrain Network all provide good transportation to Mid-town New York City.  If you are staying in the city of Newark, consider taking the public transportation to the city center and then catch a taxi or ride-share to get around the city.

Once you are in downtown New York City, you can get anywhere within the city by taxi, MTA Subway or ride-share.  If you are planning on traveling to areas outside of downtown New York City, you will probably want to hire a rental car.  You can either rent a car at one of the 3 New York City area airports, John F.
