Top Places To Visit In Nevada

Nevada is the largest state in the United States, so the best way to get around Nevada is with a rental car.  By renting a car you will have the flexibility to see all that Nevada has to offer.  If you are driving through Nevada, some of the top cities to visit are:

   Las Vegas Rental Car

Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the largest cities in the United States.  Las Vegas is a very large and spread out city, so if you are going anywhere other than the Las Vegas strip, it is a good idea to get a rental car.  By renting a car you will have the flexibility to see all that Las Vegas has to offer.  The world class hotels, five-star restaurants, famous shows and casinos are among the few attractions that draw travelers from around the world.  The world-famous Las Vegas strip also hosts some of the best shopping in the nation.  There is nothing better than driving down the strip on a hot summer night and watching all the lights and action of Las Vegas go by.

Although there is plenty to see and do in the city of Las Vegas, you will want to use your rental car to drive out too many of the tourist attractions surrounding Las Vegas. Sights worth driving to are Lake Las Vegas, Hoover Dam and Lake Havasu. You should also consider driving out to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.   Each of these destinations are between thirty minutes to an hour drive from downtown Las Vegas.  Wherever you drive your rental car, you are sure to have a great time in the city that never sleeps.

   Reno Rental Car

Reno and the surrounding county is very spread out, so if you are going anywhere other than the Reno strip, it is a good idea to get a rental car.  By renting a car you will have the flexibility to see all that Reno has to offer.  Drive out to the revitalized Riverwalk area along the Truckee River. Its where you go to dine, and shop trough the many restaurants, shops and galleries. Consider driving to Virginia Lake Park a lovely area with walking trails only 9 minutes from downtown Reno. Baseball fans will want to drive to the Greater Nevada Field to watch a minor league baseball game.  The Mount Rose Ski Resort is only a 20-minute drive from downtown Reno.  You should also consider driving to the Animal Ark or to the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum. Each of these destinations area 20 miles north of Reno.

Although there is plenty to see and do in the city of Reno, you will want to use your rental car to drive out too many of the tourist attractions surrounding Reno.  Sights worth driving to are Virginia City and the Lake Tahoe area of Nevada.  Twenty miles southeast of Reno lies a little nugget of history in Virginia City. History buffs will enjoy the scenic drive to this former western mining down.  For those of you driving to Lake Tahoe, the drive from Reno to either the South Shore of North Shore of Lake Tahoe takes about 1 hour from downtown Reno (depending on driving conditions). If you are driving to Lake Tahoe in the wintertime, be sure to check that the rental car is either a 4-wheel drive or if not, the car has chains.  This is important if the weather changes and you get snow.  Wherever you drive your rental car in the Reno area, you are sure to have a great time.
