When traveling to Charleston your itinerary should include visiting some of the main attractions: Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, Citadel Archives & Museum, Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park, Boon Hall Plantation & Gardens, Nathanial Russell House, Drayton Hall and Patriots Point Military Museum. You should consider exploring the stunning mansions along the waterfront in the picturesque Battery neighborhood. It’s an easy drive from downtown Charleston. History buffs will want to drive out to the Magnolia Plantation & Gardens for a taste of Charleston’s past.
